The Medical Gazette, the journal of the Special Hospital for Thyroid and Metabolic Diseases, “Zlatibor,” has been published for over thirty years. Owing to the efforts of its editors, associate editors, and editorial board, the journal has continually evolved, keeping pace with contemporary trends and the needs of both readers and authors.

The journal began as a print publication and later transitioned to an electronic, open-access format. A particular strength and distinctive feature of the journal is that, as an open-access publication, it does not charge authors any publication fees, thereby making it genuinely accessible to all contributors. This unique characteristic is especially important in the current economic climate. In addition, peer reviewers are leading experts in the field, ensuring the high quality of published articles.

The development of the journal will not stop at this level. The Medical Gazette is already indexed in the EBSCO database, and we expect it to be indexed in additional databases. However, every journal ultimately exists for its readers and authors. Therefore, I hope we will receive an increasing number of your submissions, which will further enhance the journal's quality and advance our knowledge, as well as our diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.
